  If you are a UnitedHealthcare customer - apply now for our Shining Light: Leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility Award!  

The Shining Light: Leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility Award honors one UnitedHealthcare customer that has demonstrated excellence in social responsibility. The recipient will receive $25,000 to donate to an eligible nonprofit organization of their choice. All UnitedHealthcare customers are invited to apply. Applications are available online at www.uhc.com/ShiningLight.

  • Clients may nominate themselves, with the consent of their senior-most social responsibility executive; or
  • UnitedHealthcare account teams may nominate their clients, with the consent of the client's senior-most social responsibility executive.

Applications must be submitted through the website and received by UHC no later than midnight on March 2, 2012, to be considered. A panel of senior executives from UnitedHealth Group will select the applicant that best demonstrates overall excellence in a social responsibility program, which addresses an important health or other basic need in society. Criteria for judging include: innovation in addressing the challenge, impact of action and measurable results, and the creation of shared value – proving mutual benefit to the company and to society. Successful applicants will address all of these criteria.

The award will be presented at the 2012 UnitedHealthcare National Accounts Annual Customer Forum, May 9 through 11 in Palos Verdes, California.
