Mike is responsible for leading the National Accounts division of UnitedHealthcare and all Public Sector organizations. In this role, he — along with each person within National Accounts — focuses on our largest employer customers, and helps them achieve their health care strategic objectives. Under his guidance, National Accounts helps its Fortune 500 customers and large government entities become even more competitive in their markets and stronger organizations overall through delivery of cost effective, quality and innovative health care. The National Accounts team is committed to providing our customers with solutions to the challenging health care issues faced today and working collaboratively with all stakeholders to improve health care. This ensures our customers’ health care investments are maximized, their employees and families have a personalized consumer experience, and they live healthier lives. Previously, Mike led all business development efforts for UnitedHealthcare National Accounts and delivered innovative, tailored health benefit solutions. Mike joined UnitedHealth Group in 1997 as a strategic account executive and has personally worked with customers such as General Electric and Accenture. He was able to focus on his passion for innovation and modernizing the health care system when he transitioned to a product development role and helped design and launch our industry-leading consumer-driven products. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Mike began his career at Traveler’s Insurance Companies in 1989 serving in a management rotational program with positions that included claims manager, underwriter, client service manager, financial analyst and sales executive. From 1993 to 1997, Mike was employed at Physicians Health Services, serving as an underwriting director and senior account executive. Mike graduated magna cum laude with honors from the College of the Holy Cross and attended the Columbia University Executive Management Program. He is a board member of the MetroHartford Alliance and is also a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist. For more information, contact Jacqueline John at (860) 702-6921.
